EXPORT SNAPSHOT
Current Observation
The two sums are browser-derived sums of country fields. They are not counts of distinct physical cables or distinct landing sites.
SUBSEA DEPENDENCY ATLAS // NON-GEOGRAPHIC
Exported Country Profiles
Marker placement is schematic and carries no geographic meaning. No cable path, landing coordinate, country-to-country connection, outage, or traffic flow is drawn or inferred.

EXPORT
Observed
Country codes and the exported cable_count, landing_count, dependency_score, redundancy_score, and unique_partner_countries fields, plus export status/date, summary/significance fields, dataset name, and dataset hash.
BROWSER
Derived
Only transparent arithmetic over those fields: country-field sums and simple history counts such as distinct values, changes, and the current constant run.
NOT EXPORTED
Unknown
Cable identities, landing-site names or coordinates, route geometry, ownership, capacity, traffic, physical condition, outages, and causal meaning. Score values are shown as raw unitless export values without inventing a percentage scale or qualitative label.
METHOD
Methodology
The page reads only the existing local World Observer latest export and its published history. It does not query cable operators, map providers, network routes, or live infrastructure services. The atlas is an abstract profile layout, not a geographic cable map.

The export metadata names its dataset Greg's Cable Map derivative (open license) and supplies a dataset SHA-256. This page does not contact a map provider or live cable-status service.
